Cafeteria
The Food Services Division works with schools to ensure that healthy meals and/or snacks are always available to students, whether they are at school, off campus for a special activity, participating in a school program taking place outside the regular school day, or involved in some other special circumstance.
Meal Applications
It is essential that every family complete the application for the federal lunch every year. Supplemental school funding is determined by percentages from the total applications received, even from parents who know that their child will not receive free or reduced meals. These applications are sent home by the District and should be returned to the school or completed online. You will be notified regarding your eligibility for free, reduced, or full price meals. Breakfast in the Classroom
Each day, breakfasts are packaged in insulated bags and labeled by classroom. Student monitors roll the bags to their classroom. Each student will take his/her own complete meal. Students eat while the teacher takes morning roll, reviews previously assigned work and reads announcements. This normally takes about ten minutes.
Lunch
Students can receive nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches each school day. The meals and services provided are an important part of the overall education experience and enhance student’s ability to learn. Children participating in the lunch program learn to make good nutritious choices from the selection of foods offered daily in the cafeteria. Applying these skills to their lives as they grow is an essential key to their good health and success in the future.
